Within walking distance is the Gros Ventre River, which runs through forests, cliffs, and narrow canyons. The Gros Ventre Campground is situated in a tranquil setting with incredible views of Blacktail Butte and the Grand Teton Mountain Range. This fee is reviewed annually and approved by the National Park Service. The amount of this fee is determined by taking the difference in the cost of providing these services less the comparable cost of similar services in local areas. Water Hookup Fee: The Utility fee is imposed on all lodging and camping products to defer the higher cost of providing water and sewer in the remote locations in which we operate. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities can apply for an Access Pass through the National Park Service. Please be familiar with food storage and wildlife safety guidelines. Wildlife activity is prevalent in the park. Please review Campground & National Park Pet Regulations. Generators cannot be used during these hours.Ĭamping accommodations are pet-friendly. (For reference, 2 motorcycles = 1 vehicle) RV sites allow for one RV (tow included) only. Guests will need to review site specific information for maximum number of tents permitted in individual sites. Not all sites are able to accomodate two tents. Tent sites allow for up to two tents and two vehicles. Maximum guests allowed per site (not including group sites) is six. Please inquire with campground staff upon arrival for use information. NEW FOR 2022: Dump stations have limited use availability. We have one potable (drinking) water station and two rv dump stations across from the office cabin as you enter the campground. Generators are only permitted in loops A, B, C and along the East Corridor (EC). The maximum stay permitted at Gros Ventre Campground is 14 nights, and the maximum cumulative stay between all park campgrounds is 30 nights. Campground Office is open from 8am-8pm during peak season. Firewood and ice can be purchased at the campground office during posted business hours. There is a campground host on-site, and a courtesy phone located at the campground kiosk. Cellular coverage varies, and may be available depending on location within the campground and service provider. There is no internet service at Gros Ventre Campground the closest public wireless internet access is in the town of Jackson, a 10- to 15-minute drive away. Please note, neither the campground registration office nor the courtesy phone are wheelchair accessible. Routes to the amphitheater have an incline and are paved, but somewhat uneven. The campground loop roads are paved and generally level, with some small inclines/declines. Several restroom facilities are wheelchair-accessible. Most sites in the campground are level, vehicle-accessible, and surfaced with compact gravel. Please note that generators are only permitted in loops A, B, and C.ĪDA Access: There are 10 campsites that are ADA compliant with electric-only hook-ups. There are no shower facilities at the campground. All sites have a picnic table, a fire pit with metal fire grate, food storage lockers and access to nearby water spigots and flush toilets. Each RV campsite has a back-in or pull-through gravel parking space for one RV and one tow vehicle with a maximum total length of 45 feet.* There is a limited use RV dump station available across from the campground office. Each tent campsite has a gravel parking space for two vehicles and tent pads for up to two tents. Gros Ventre campground offers camping for tents and dry camping for RVs. While Gros Ventre Campground doesn’t always fill as quickly as some of the other park campgrounds, visitors are still encouraged to plan and book early. Campground has two dump stations with limited use availability. The campground is open from late-April to early-October. Campsites include 279 individual campsites, 4 large group sites, and 39 electric-only sites, 10 of which are ADA-accessible. The campground offers camping for tents and dry camping for RVs. While none of Gros Ventre’s campsites are on the river, all are within walking distance. For avid anglers, the Gros Ventre River offers plentiful cutthroat trout, brook trout, and whitefish. Gros Ventre (pronounced ‘grow-vont’), means “big belly” in French, and the Gros Ventre Campground-surrounded by cottonwood trees and featuring stunning views of Blacktail Butte and the Teton Mountains-is truly magnificent! The campground’s location next to the Gros Ventre River offers some of the best opportunities in the park for wildlife sightings, as bison, moose, mule deer and a wide variety of birds are known to frequent the area.
